Sao Paulo fans clashed with police during an Under-20 match at the Nogueirao stadium in Mogi das Cruzes on Sunday.
Sao Paulo were away to Rondonopolis in the Copinha, Brazil’s premier youth tournament, and there was free entry to the match.
The clashes broke out outside the ground when a large group of Sao Paulo fans tried to force their way into the already packed stadium. At the same time, other Sao Paulo fans started fighting with police inside the ground.
Military police then intervened to restore order, using tear gas and batons, resulting in 15 people needing medical attention at the ground.
No arrests were made.
