Apollon Limassol and Omonia Nicosia fans clashed with each other and riot police at the Tsirio Stadium following the Cyprus Cup final on Wednesday.
As the final whistle confirmed Apollon’s 2-1 win, hundreds of Apollon fans flooded onto the pitch to celebrate their team’s victory. Some of the Apollon fans began throwing flares and other items at Omonia fans in the stands. Angry Omonia fans then invaded the pitch, leading to a clash between the two sets of fans.
When riot police intervened, both sides turned on them.
At least two fans were arrested during the riot.
