Marseille fans clashed with riot cops in the Old Port area of the southern French city after their team’s 3-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
Fans, who hadn’t made the trip to the final in Lyon, began rioting in their own city as their side failed to win the coveted Europa league trophy.
Angry OM fans set bins on fire and threw objects at riot cops, who responded by throwing tear gas grenades.
According to local media reports, there were around a dozen arrests for public order offences.
