Eintracht Frankfurt fans clashed with police before their Bundesliga match against Stuttgart on Saturday.
The violence broke out on the concourse under the North West Stand at Frankfurt’s Wald Stadium approximately 45 minutes before kick-off and then spilled outside the ground.
Fans threw bottles, flares, metal barriers and other objects at riot cops, who responded with pepper spray and batons.
It’s not clear what sparked the violence, which lasted about half an hour.
