Ajax’s Eredivisie match against bitter rivals Feyenoord on Sunday was abandoned in the 55th minute after home fans threw flares onto the pitch.
Feyenoord led 3-0 at the Johan Cruyff Arena when the game was called off.
The match had already been halted twice before half-time due to a plastic cup and flares thrown onto the pitch by furious Ajax fans.
Trouble continued after the match was officially abandoned with police clashing with rioting Ajax fans outside the ground.
A group of Ajax fans also destroyed one of the entrances to the Johan Cruyff Arena as they forced their way back into the stadium.
Tear gas was used to quell the unrest around the stadium.
Ajax currently sit 14th in the Eredivisie table with one win in five league matches.
